Snowboard Designs for Snow Conditions and Terrain

Different terrain and snow conditions demand different kinds of boards.  Arbor Snowboards categorizes its line of boards as "All Mountain," "Freestyle" and "Freeride."  The Freestyle model is shorter and wider and is great for snow parks.  The longer board, called the Freeride, is constructed for fast turns. The All Mountain model is a mix of the Freestyle and Freeride configurations.

Beyond these general designs, there are specific models designed especially for treed slopes, back country snowboarding and extreme steeps.  For instance, the A-Frame is a Freeride carver, designed for on edge riding. It holds a deep line and has tight control in steep situations. The Wasteland is an All Mountain mid-wide and its light weight is great for coping with powder, tree slopes, park, steeps and back country.

The Element is another All Mountain board, described by Arbor Snowboards as technically advanced. It can go in to any spin or line alteration and can hold an edge at speed on the pipe or the steeps. The Alt is a bamboo version of the Element.

Women have become increasingly interested in the snowboarding sport.  Arbor Snowboards has produced boards that are specifically tailored to their needs. The Push is a Freerider for women. It has a clean line and can be used for powder, natural hits, tree slopes, steeps and groomers. The Cadence is also for women and is an All Mountain board. It is light and flexible and ideal for spin tricks and rail sessions.
