Personalize Your Best Wishes With Baby Gift Baskets
Have your friends or relatives had their first (or second, or third...) baby? Buying or assembling a baby gift basket is a
great way to personalize your gift to the family and newborn. If you decide to assemble your own baby gift basket, the new parents will
appreciate your time and effort. If you're having a hard time deciding what to buy for the baby and family, the gift basket idea is the way
to go because you can include fun little items as well as some practical items, such as baby powder. Those practical goodies in baby gift
baskets can come in handy for the harried new parent who does not want to run to the store in the middle of the night to buy something!
You can purchase baby gift baskets that are already assembled. However, in our household, we prefer to create our own. It's fun,
creative and helps when we cannot decide on exactly what to give!
Some Ideas For Creating Baby Gift Baskets
To start, we purchase a large basket with a sturdy handle. We used to buy our baskets one at a time at the local craft shop, but
now we are buying ten or so at a time from a wholesale company so that we have them on hand. We also purchase cellophane, usually
in pink or printed with a baby motif. Added to the mix are ribbons, tissue paper, pre-inflated foil balloons with a congratulations
message, and, of course, an appropriate card.
The fun part is gathering the goodies to put into our baby gift basket. Here are some items that we like to include:
- Quality baby shoes;
- Some Baby Einstein products;
- Baby clothing accessories, such as a hat, mitts and scarf set;
- Liquid baby power (because real baby powder can affect the baby's breathing);
- An infant-safe stuffed toy;
- Something special for mom, such as bath salts, lotions or aromatherapy products;
- Miscellaneous baby care products; and
- A gift certificate for a local restaurant so that the parents can enjoy an evening away from the hectic demands of
parenthood! For local friends, we've also included handmade "baby sitting" certificates along with our restaurant gift
certificates, "entitling" our friends to ask us to baby sit for an evening while Mom and Dad enjoy their night on the town.
These are a real hit!
For our out-of-town friends and relatives, baby gift baskets are great choice. So long as items are non-breakable, the gift baskets
can be safely shipped and are a wonderful way to send best wishes and practical gifts to new parents and babies.
Baby Gift Baskets Are Fun to Receive, Especially When They Include the Whole Family
Baby gift baskets are a lot of fun to receive, especially with the assortment of gifts that are included. Gift baskets are a
nice way to include everyone in the family, particularly if there are young brothers and sisters who feel left out because of all of the fuss and
attention the new baby is receiving.
Including toys and games for the other children is a good gesture, especially if these are things that the youngsters can occupy themselves
with on their own (freeing up time for the new Mom and Dad). It's important to buy for the other children's age level. If you
include gifts that are beyond the children's age range, your well-intended gifts will result in disappointment for the children, rather than
the intended distraction.
Putting together baby gift baskets is fun, and the recipients will appreciate them. If you have a large family or many married
couple friends, it is nice to have supplies around so that you can quickly assemble a wonder baby basket gift package.
