5 Essential Dating Tips - Continuation of Tip #3, Etiquette

Be courteous and genuinely complimentary.  Your date has made an effort for you, so always show up for your date unless you have given plenty of time for it to be cancelled.  Standing someone up is rude and inconsiderate.  Be generous with genuine -- not obvious fake -- compliments for your date.

Politics and Religion Usually Don't Mix on the First Date.  Try to avoid being opinionated or arrogant on a date and try to avoid discussions about politics and religion on the first date.  This might be a turnoff for your date!  Being rude to others is also not appropriate.  You are trying to show your good side, so arguing about a service charge or whether the wine is chilled enough will make you look like a fool.  Arguing with the waiter is a huge turnoff on your first date (or any other date)!

Look Good; Smell Good.  In terms of appearance, make an effort to dress well.  There is no excuse to look bad.  Poor dress shows laziness and will do nothing to promote you.  Also, try to be fresh and smell good.  You should be shaven, bathed and smell good.  It will cost you nothing more than a bottle of quality cologne and some shower gel.  Just make sure not to over-do it with the cologne!

Essential Dating Tip #4 - Confidence!

Essential Dating Tip #4 - Have Confidence!

No one wants a date with someone with low self esteem and a negative self image.  Try to makeover your self confidence and learn how to be a desirable date.  Here are some ideas:

Make Changes.  Make a list of the things you are not comfortable with about yourself.  Be honest in your assessment.  It might help to get a second opinion from a good friend who'd love to see you succeed in your dating efforts.  Change the things that are easy first.

Feel Good About Your Appearance.  Address the way you look and dress.  By changing the basic aspects of your looks, lifestyle and regime, you will instantly feel more confident.  By looking and feeling good about yourself and widening your horizons your life has already changed for the better and your confidence levels are on the up.

There are a few changes that can be made in your daily life.  Make sure you are in shape or at least working on getting into shape.  If you are dieting or exercising, remember to be patient as these changes will take a little while.  Also, start doing things you wish you always had the courage to do, such as a hobby, sport, class or society.  By expanding your horizons and stepping beyond your comfort zone, you'll have so much more to offer in terms of self-confidence and conversation.
