Mastering Fear Reduces Stress

Today millions around the world are finding it difficult to manage stress. More and more incidents of terrorism, violence, natural disasters, abuse, and so forth are reported in the news.  Many of us who are 40 years of age and older do not recall that there was as much violence, weather anomalies, and the like when we were growing up that seems almost commonplace today.

Others are fed up with the way the world is headed. Political powers force us to comply to governmental demands even if those demands are causing more problems.

We might struggle with religious teachings that tell us that the world is nearing its end, which cultivates a fear that lingers throughout our lifetime. Even if we do not subscribe to these religious teachings, there is always a personal fear every one of us will die at some time in our future.

The short of this is that if we dwell on our fears, this kind of thinking can lead to stress, depression, anxiety, phobias, paranoia and so forth. The key to a successful life is mastering our fears.

Identifying and Mastering Fear

Fear comes in all forms, including fear of heights, fear of disease, fear of death, and so forth. we can understand how fear controls our stress level by defining fear itself. Fear is expecting something to happen in a short time that may be legitimate or not. For example, if you are expecting a paycheck on Friday and the check does not arrive until Monday, you are promoting fear and contributing to your level stress. We should never allow expectancy to take charge of our life. When we are expecting something that normally follows a regular schedule, we must also realize that life changes.

Therefore, to find a stress management solution that works best for you, you must reach inside, pull up those fears and expectations, and modify them so they work accordingly to a high intense, fast-paced world.

Looking to others to make our stress go away is not always the answer.  Some people get hooked on anti depressants; others create huge debts by constantly calling psychics to give them an easy answer.  The only thing that will truly reduce the stress is to grab a-hold of our fears, master them, and regain control of our lives.
