The Scoop on Celebrity Homes
I never really thought about celebrity homes until I saw a show on MTV about them. I believe it’s called MTV Cribs, but I’m not really sure. I only saw it a few times. When it comes down to it, I doubt I would want to buy any of the celebrity homes I saw on TV...even if I had the money to do so.
I'll admit, some of the homes were pretty cool, but I thought they were also a little over the top, even for celebrities. The decor in some of them was outright garish. I can only hope that many of the ones not shown on this show are done a little more tastefully. There were some great ideas but there were also some that were taken so far to the extreme that the home didn’t even look like a home any longer.
Many celebrity homes are probably more elaborate than most of us will ever have. I don't judge it ... if you have a lot of money like some celebrities, you should be able to enjoy it. I can also understand some of them having theaters and even a bowling alley in their celebrity homes. When you get mobbed every single time you leave the house, who wants to take that chance just to see a movie? I know I wouldn’t want to deal with it all the time. It’s not even the fans that would bother me; it would probably be those photographers that got to me.

Celebrity homes are well guarded and they have elaborate alarms systems. Most fans are ordinary people who wouldn’t dream of stalking a celebrity to their home or even try to get in, but there are some crazies out there who would to do just that. This is why so many celebrity homes are surrounded by large, imposing gates that are so big that you can't even see the house.
Every once in a blue moon, celebrity homes can be found on the market. They are very pricey!
Most celebrities like Oprah, Elvis, or even presidents, came from humble homes. These might be the most valuable celebrity homes you can find. There is something inspiring about coming from nothing to have everything that keeps the American dream alive.
