Finding the Best Cell Phone Plans

Cell phone deals and rates being offered these days can become overwhelming.  Companies are constantly pitching their service to us by television, radio and e-mail advertisements. We all want the best cell phone plans, but with so much information, it's hard to tell which plan is the best.

Cell phones have certainly become a part of our daily lives, and some folks will say that they cannot live without a cell phone.  In some cases, I think people are going overboard with their cell phones.  They can't even go for a walk around the block without talking on their cell phones.  Nonetheless, cell phones are a great way to be available for business calls or to get help in cases of an emergency.

Finding the best cell phone plans can be tricky. If you head out to your local mall, you will most likely spot a stand or store that is just waiting to talk your ear off about their new deal. Whether it be T-Mobile, Sprint, or Verizon, you can rest assured that they have an "unbeatable deal" for you.

The phones themselves are the focus of many potential cell phone buyers. Many are motivated by who has the coolest new compact phone that allows you to take pictures, play games and watch movies.  These phones are technologically awesome and fun, too.  However, the best cell phone plans should essentially offer you a reasonable service that suits your daily needs. Things to consider are:

  • Do you frequently travel for business, and require a phone with no long distance or roaming charges?
  • If you are a business person, do you need to access e-mail when you're on the road?
  • What is the service area of your cell phone provider?
  • Is there an unlimited minutes plan available?
  • How often do you use the phone?  If it is just for fun or emergencies only, perhaps a local service area with "x" amount of minutes is all that you need.

In "the old days," the best cell phone plans were the ones that gave you a phone for free, as long as you joined their service for a year. This would certainly come in handy today, with wireless phones such as the Razr that can run 200 bucks.

If you are about to purchase a cell phone or upgrade your current phone, I recommend that you check online for some of the best cell phone plans. This will give you a good idea about what is actually available so that you know the questions to ask if you are going to buy locally. The beauty of finding the best cell phone plans online is that you do not have to deal with the pressure of a salesman. Chances are you will locate a number of deals from different companies that all sound good. An important thing to consider is how much you use it and who you're calling. You want the most bang for your buck. The best cell phone plans are out there, they simply vary from person to person.
