From Dorky to Cool, Temporary Tattoo Designs Can Please Most Anyone

Temporary tattoo designs are big nowadays. When I was  younger, I used to get all of my temporary tattoos from vending machines at the arcade for a couple of quarters, but now they are every where. Lisa Marie -- that's my kid sister -- orders temporary tattoo designs online all of the time.  My folks aren't very happy about it but they've decided to not push the issue too much since they don't want her rebelling and getting permanent tattoos.  Anyway, Lisa Marie and her friends often paste their whole bodies with the stickers. I guess I understand why. There is no denying that temporary tattoos are cool. I'd have some myself if I hadn't already graduated to the real kind.

Temporary tattoo designs are available in a huge number of shapes, colors, and subject matters. The classic designs remain popular. Those are the ones that feature hearts with knives through them, flaming skulls, dragons, eagles, Harley Davidson logos, and that sort of thing.

There are others that I consider totally dorky, but they're the kind my sister loves.  They have cutesy little phrases and girlish hearts. These temporary tattoo designs have things like “Too Cute”, or “Princess” written on them – you know what I mean.  Just the other day, Lisa Marie was sporting one on her shoulder that said precious, except that it was spelled “prrrrrrrrrrecious” and had a kitten on it, playing with a ball of yarn.

There are even some temporary tattoo designs in plain black ink that look almost like the real thing. They are designed like stencils so that you can put different words on your arm. Others have pictures of hearts, ships, or women, and look just like sailor tattoos.

There are also the “tribal” temporary tattoo designs that I think are totally awesome. These are things like naval stars, spirals, iron and Celtic crosses, and various patterns that you can inscribe all over your body.

The coolest, in my opinion, are the temporary tattoo designs which let you build your own.  Temporary tattoos that have some kind of personal significance are the best. There are kits available with a few stock letters and shapes, and then a whole sheet of that temporary tattoo paper that you can design into whatever you want, and then rub onto your arm. The first time I played with one of these kits, I realized that one day I would get a real tattoo. I wonder if my little sister feels the same way.  I'm sure my folks hope not!
