The Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo Delivers Off Road Performance
Off road 4-wheeling is an activity that my family and I enjoy, and we generally have a whole group of families who join us for these memorable events. We drive a Jeep Wrangler with several added options. The vehicle is equipped with 38 inch tires, a winch for pulling our Jeep out of trouble spots as well as front and rear lockers to keep one wheel turning at all times.
We are pleased with of our off road vehicle but a group member's Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo caught our attention. He drove his brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo on one of our recent trips. It was so new that it still had a new car smell to it.
Our friend's Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo was what we refer to as “stock”. This means that the vehicle basically has no off road options on it. The tires were from the manufacturer. There was no locker in the front or rear to keep traction. We constantly asked the driver if he was going to get his precious Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo dirty or worse yet, scratched. He was a good sport and drove along with us. The trails we were riding that day ranged from small slopes with some mud, to tight pathways through trees and brush and, of course, some towering hills with rocks and slippery terrain to get the excitement going. We tackled the trails with our usual enthusiasm.
We were asked to ride behind the Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo. Another group member who drove a vehicle that had tow straps and a winch was designated to ride in front of the pretty little Cherokee Loredo. The club members just assumed that the off road vehicle straight from the dealer was going to get stuck and need one of us was going to have to pull him out.
Amazingly, our friend was able to drive his new vehicle up hills that others' off road vehicles did not quite make. He was able to fit through narrow trails without getting bad scratches on his new vehicle. His tires held their tread. We went through several soupy mud bogs and he glided through them.
I was very surprised by the performance of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo. The length and width did not hamper its maneuvering capabilities. The tires and shocks held up very well. I was so impressed with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo, that my family is considering buying for ourselves. With it, we will be able to trail ride and use the vehicle as a camper, rather than having to drive two vehicles so one serves as a camper. There will be a lot of room for gear and storage.
In short, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Loredo is an impressive off road vehicle. Next time your shopping for a good recreational vehicle, check it out.
